Bleach Review
Hellspire's Review - Bleach is definitely a great anime/manga. I enjoyed it so much, that in first two days I had the episodes, I watched 27 of them. Character development in this series is definitely a plus, even if some things are cliché. For the most part, in the beginning of the series, Ichigo appears to be the expected cliché main character that goes from being an average teenager, to a hero (in whatever sense). Trying to escape from this cliché, the creators decided to give Ichigo an attitude, and a foul mouth in some cases, which if I may say so, is a relief. However, it is often taken too far and Ichigo may become likeable or annoying if you don't follow his character development sequentially.
The plot is original in how the dead interact with the living, and the whole "spirit" issue is intriguing. Even the development of the classic "love-interest" between our two main characters is understandable, and bearable. I found it odd that most of the supporting characters developed powers based on Ichigo's interaction with them, but as explained further in this review, it is a relief. The concept of the enforcing spirit organization of Death Gods, having a corrupt few, is to be expected, but very suiting for this plot type. Ichigo having moral issues with some of the organizations' edicts (which he mostly learns from Rukia) as well as his basic role as someone who will topple the corrupt, and eventually usher in change, is really cliché.
The fighting in the beginning is pretty boring considering Ichigo doesn't know how to use his Soul Slayer like a Death God should. However, it gets much more interesting as the series progresses. The introduction of each supporting cast member (those who developed power from Ichigo) only enhances the fighting, and makes it much more interesting. I highly doubt that the community would have accepted Ichigo fighting in the same manner (initial offensive/defensive, Ichigo getting hurt or having some sort of problem, and finally overcoming it with a display of power) in a series this long. Thank you for something original!
The level of animation detail is pretty good, although for minor characters, almost everyone looks somewhat alike. The music accompaniments are pretty nice as well. Although, I must say that the music of Naruto and some other anime's beat this one down. To say more, most of the jokes (whether through the animation or verbally) are pretty hilarious and sets the anime apart from a dark and depressing story-which is why the love interest in this series plays off well.
I would really like to say more but I will leave it out so as not to have too many things about the plot revealed (as well as not to take up far too much space on this page -.-) and to allow you to form your own opinions. Despite the cons I have presented, I feel that this anime should definitely be on your "next-to-watch" list if you have not seen it already. Enjoy the series!
MixinDJ's Review - I really enjoy this anime. To me it is a mixture
of Shamen King, Yu Yu Hakusho and Naruto rolled into a kick butt series called
Bleach. The fighting scenes are good but not the greatest. It is the
usual hack and slash with the sword combat which isn't as good as Kenshin.
There are quite a bit of humorous scenes in this anime. The plot is pretty
strong to me. The whole spirit thing is very new but Bleach has a way of
making it seem unique.
Glitch's Review - This anime is nothing less than brilliant, its filled with
thrills all the way through and there’s never a dull moment or a break in the action.
There is one problem though and that is the fact that the quality of artwork often changes.
On the protagonist Ichigo (make sure) the artwork is (almost)always perfect but on the other
characters it is noticeable as to how less care has been taken. Another bad point is that it
has taken a little too much influence from inu yasha. In the second episode it takes a lot from
it such as the main monster like lady centipede and also the running with damsel on back scene.
The sword that he uses also looks strangely familiar seeing as wielded in the hand of one it is
weaker but in the Ichigo’s presence it grows into something much larger. Although it has these
bad points it is still a really good anime and something that you just can’t miss watching.

My thoughts: WOW…just wow, this anime is none like you’ve seen before. The story is very grasping
and you’ll always want to find out what’s going to happen next. The battle scenes are the best part
of this anime! With lots of blood and violence what could go wrong? Also there are some humorous parts
in this anime that can take any dramatic part and make it funny. Then we move on to the dramatic side of
this anime. During fights or just walking along this can be very dramatic at times almost makes you want
to cry. Then there’s music! The music in this anime are great, it really brings out the mood in what’s
going on so far. Now the most important thing. Character development, All the characters will start to change
little by little, this is really a plus! The only con is it can get kid like at times. So yeah, Bleach is a must watch anime! |
